FR500CJ Deliveries Begin
by CP Staff
Brent Hajek, owner of Hajek Motorsports, was first to take delivery of a new Ford Racing FR500CJ Mustang this week.
Ford Racing Director, Brian Wolfe, was on hand to hand Hajek the keys to his new racer. The team plans to take delivery of three more CJ's and campaign them all this season.
First shown at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas last month, only fifty of the current models are being built, and all were sold before the public announcement.

A run of 2010 Mustang-based Cobra Jets is under consideration by Ford Racing. In the meantime, all components used to build an original FR500CJ are available through authorized Ford Racing dealers.
Built purely as a race car (it is serialized but has no VIN), the FR500CJ features a 5.4 Cobra Jet engine, Cobra Jet cold air kit, FRPP throttle body, A/C delete, special crankshaft damper, 6-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission with SFI bell housing, stainless steel long-tube racing headers, 9" rear axle assembly, one piece driveshaft, single hoop drive shaft loop, Cobra Jet rear control arms and anti-roll bar, Ford Racing adjustable dampers, drag race spring kit and Cobra Jet wheels - 15" x 4" (front), 15" x 10" (rear).
"We’ve built a Mustang for drag racing that we’ve very proud of," commented Wolfe. "We're confident that this, like all Mustang race cars, will be competitive, and a value for those looking to enter a variety of sportsmen classes."
