SVT Raptor Update

Introduced at the 2008 SEMA SHow in Las Vegas, Ford's SVT Raptor has been quietly moving toward production while the prototype SVT Raptor R has been carving a swath through the off road racing community.
Back in April, the F-150 SVT Raptor R completed the approximately 220-mile loop race in the Nevada desert in the "Terrible's 250" race , finishing 2nd in Class 8000.
Due to arrive in dealerships this summer, the 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor with a 320-horsepower 5.4-liter V-8 engine will have a MSRP of $38,995, including destination & delivery. An optional all-new 6.2-liter V-8 will start at $41,995 , when it becomes available later this winter.

The Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT) developed this purpose built high performance truck that is versatile enough to take on the most challenging off-road adventures as well as the everyday commute.
The F-150 SVT Raptor delivers 11.2 inches of front suspension travel and 12.1 inches of rear suspension travel with internal bypass FOX Racing Shox and unique suspension components, a massive front skid plate, an electronic locking rear differential, a center console switch package with hill descent control and off-road mode, 35" BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO 315/70R17 tires and much more.
To promote early sales of the Raptor and reward the faithful, Ford recently issued e-Certificates to SVTOA members who order by August 29, 2009. Such orders will receive production priority for the earliest delivery possible. Additionally, any SVTOA club member that takes delivery of a Raptor by January 31, 2010 will recieve a certificate good for $1,500 in Raptor specific Ford Racing Parts.
The first race for the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor R race truck was the 2008 SCORE Tecate Baja 1000, where it finished 3rd in Class 8. The Baja 1000 event also served as a test bed for the development of a lineup of Ford Racing Performance Parts race-proven, desert-tested, off-road performance parts that will be available through the FRPP catalog.
