Caddell Tops Thursday Challenge
Andrew Cadell of Graham, WA, led both sessions during opening practice on Thursday for the inaugural Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup race on Saturday.
Cadell had never driven the Ford Mustang FR500S before practice on Thursday, but the former SCCA National Champion showed his quick adaptation with a fast lap time of1:36.932-seconds at Road Atlanta.
"These are fun cars," said Cadell, who raced in MX-5 competition last season. "There is a lot more power than I've ever had to work with, but it didn't take much time to get used to it. We still have a lot to learn with the car but this was a great way to start the weekend off. I know the times are going to get closer and closer but hopefully we can stay on top!"
