Team Shelby Continues Growth
Membership in the new Team Shelby Club, which is authorized by Shelby Automobiles Inc., has skyrocketed to over 2,000 people in just three months.
Officially launched on Carroll Shelby’s 85th birthday of Jan. 11, 2008, Team Shelby is the only club officially recognized by the factory for all vehicles built by Shelby, including 2006 and newer Shelby-based Mustangs.
"Shelby Autos supports Team Shelby because it gives real enthusiasts real ways to enjoy their cars," said Carroll Shelby, founder of Shelby Automobiles and the first member of Team Shelby.

"I'm pleased, but not surprised by the strong response to this exciting new club. While the club was originally designed for owners and fans of 2005 and newer Shelbys based on the Ford Mustang, the influx of members who own and love vintage Shelby vehicles is proof that the concept was long overdue," Shelby added.
Team Shelby began as the S197 Shelby Owners Association, which was founded by Robert Lane and Sharon Elliot. After meeting with factory representatives and Mr. Shelby, they evolved their organization into Team Shelby.
"People are hungry for ways to actually get out and enjoy their Shelby, no matter when it was built," added Ms. Elliott. "We have a great national event coming this June, an electronic registry, a great Web site, parts discounts and insider access that can’t be matched."
Team Shelby distributes newsletters and is planning a full compliment of events. Activities will include tours of the Ford and Shelby facilities, a 40th anniversary GT500KR reunion, track days, Series 1 reunion and other events.
