That process starts with standard Mustang GT's arriving from the Flat Rock, MI. assembly plant. One fully qualified technican is assigned to the car to be built and is responsible for the build from start to finish.
Above, two Roush Mustangs are in the middle of their transformation. The Redfire pony will become a Roush Stage 2 car, while the Blue model is evolving into a 427R. All assembly work is done inside the 1,000,000 square foot Technical Center on Plymouth Road in Livonia.
The company continues to build their DragPack Mustang (above), a street-legal, 11-second out of the box Mustang. In the meantime, plans are being made for future models. There's no moss growing in this part of Livonia!
Watch out for the 500-horsepower level to be handily breached, not that this is a big stretch for one of the largest suppliers of crate engines. It's one thing to build a 500-hp engine for the weekend warrior, but quite another to build it for 50-state emissions compliance and suitability for year-round operation.
But, that's what we've come to expect from Roush Performance, and we'll not be disappointed in the next round of product developments.
