CDC's Shaker Hood for 2010 Mustang
Shakin' All Over

Classic Design Concepts and Ford Racing have released their new Shaker Hood System for the 2010 Mustang GT. Dealers and owners of this iconic American pony car can now personalize their new 2010 Mustang GT with this high-performance Shaker Hood System that is engineered and built to OEM specifications.

The 2010 Mustang GT Shaker Hood System is a fully functional unit that forces outside cold air into the factory or aftermarket air box. The system attaches directly to the engine and sports a well-designed engine cover with Ford Racing badges.

Topping the system is a cast aluminum scoop, which is identical to the original Shaker included on the famous 1969-1970 models. The Shaker Hood System kit includes all mounting hardware, ductwork, template and detailed instructions. Installation can be completed in three-hours or less with basic tools.

The 2010 Ford Mustang GT Shaker Hood Systems can be purchased from Ford Racing distributors or from Classic Design Concepts under the following part numbers, Ford Racing = M-16612- SHK and Classic Design Concepts = 1095-7000-01.

The modern shaker hood was revived late in 2002 with the introduction of the special edition Mustang Mach I.

The enhancement is called a "shaker" because it is mounted on the engine, as opposed to the car's hood. As the engine moves, movement of the scoop can be seen outside the car. For engines with particularly radical camshafts, their characteristic rough idle led to shaking of the hood scoop.
